There is a new stage play coming (October 23rd-27th) to the Atlanta Civic Center. Lisa Ray was recently on 106 and Park promoting this play. It stars herself, Malik Yoba, Clifton Powell (who also directs) and Christopher Williams. Here is the synopsis about the play:
Sydney St. Croix is a gifted and well-respected writer with a flair for the finer things in life. From Goose Pate’ to Cartier, only the best will do. She is beautiful, charming and oozes confidence. In fact, you would never guess she was really born, Selma Louise Johnson, or that currently her bank account boasts a whopping twelve dollars and fifty-three cents.
After a string of bad investments, distracting relationships, and dead end writing jobs, Sydney finds herself at the end of her financial rope. Fortunately, she finds solace in her life long relationship with her best girlfriend, R & B super diva, Essence. When these ladies get together for their ritual “sister girl sessions” there are no holds barred. After an evening of sharing sexy secrets, regrettable rendezvous, intimate and sometimes incriminating confessions, the ladies renew their weekly pact to “never tell another soul”. And Sydney leaves feeling much better, knowing that there is at least one person whose life is worse than hers.
If you are dating, this will be good date idea followed up by dessert at a intimate coffee house
