Holiday in Lights
Centennial Olympic Park’s annual Holiday in Lights is an Atlanta tradition and celebrating its eighth season this fall. On Nov. 10, the Park transforms, with the help of hundreds of volunteers, into a winter wonderland. The Park hosts several volunteer days in October and early November where volunteers help string the thousands of lights that make up the dazzling display. Different and unique every year, Holiday in Lights runs through Jan. 6. The Park is open daily to view the lights from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., including Dec. 25, Christmas Day, and there is no charge for admission.
Atlanta’s only outdoor ice skating rink at Centennial Olympic Park, an annual holiday tradition, opens on Nov.10. Visitors can enjoy covered observation seating, theatrical lighting on the real ice and holiday music. The rink is open through Jan. 6, 2008, but will be closed on Dec. 25 for Christmas Day. Admission is $6 per person for a 90 minute session and skate rental is an additional $2. Hours vary.
Do something fun this weekend and take in the sites of Centennial Park. Just be careful because that ice skating rink gets really crowded....almost like a death trap...LOL.
